The Silmarillion: Mandos

Námo the elder dwells in Mandos, which is westward in Valinor. He is the keeper of the Houses of the Dead, and the summoner of the spirits of the slain. He forgets nothing; and he knows all things that shall be, save only those that lie still in the freedom of Ilúvatar. He is the Doomsman of the Valar; but he pronounces his dooms and his jugements only at the bidding of Manwë.

Mandos was the hardest to design for me because I never really had an image in my head what he looked like. I know he doesn't look like a 'Keeper-of-the-Dead' type person as I have portrayed him, but that is what came to my mind at the time. I think what it is is that Mandos is more or less a God of the Dead, which would suggest black, and I PUT HIM IN GREENS!!! My Costume professor would be hanging her head in shame! I'm thinking of making another version of him and make him like he should be: dark and...menacing? no. Dark and forboding. Look for it in the near future. mechanical pencil, pen, prismacolor.
